The Long Road to Becoming a Published Author

Well here it is Oct 11, 2014 and the book has been finished for some time.  Actually writing the book was the easy part it would seem.  The real work has been in getting it proofed, edited, and formatted.  We won't even start on the book cover.
Oh yes I will.  It is driving me bat crap crazy.
I decided to go with e-publishing because I didn't want to go through the headache of dealing with a stranger, probably from New York.  I don't have anything against anyone from New York it's just that if I'm going to be told no I had much rather it be from someone from the South.
After all we Southerners have our own special way of doing things.
A Southerner would never send something back with 'REJECTED' but instead would call you up and say.  "Well wasn't that just something.  Whatever inspired you to take up writing?"
Translated into everyone else speak that means, that was crap and whatever made you think you could write.
If you hear that hang up your pen, or keyboard, and never ever pick it up again.
I've had about ten people read the book and I only got one bad review.  Now I can't tell you that I don't respect this person and their opinion because I do.  The thing is he was the only guy to read it and as I told him before I handed it over to him it was written with a way a woman thinks and feels.  His actual words or at least five of them were, "You are no Steven King."  I'm glad that someone finally pointed that out to me because I must have been confused.  I went back and looked at my birth certificate and sure enough I'm not Steven King.  Damn who knew?
Well I'm going to leave you for now and call my daughter.  One of my favorite things in the world to do is to drive her nuts and I do that so well.  Don't believe me, ask her.

When Emma’s paternal grandmother dies she has to return to the home she hasn’t set foot in since she was twelve when her father died and her mother took her and left. Now after twenty years she has come home to settle her grandmothers estate only to find she not only has inherited a farm but also a one hundred and thirty year old curse. Now she has to put to rest that curse before it claims her life as it has all in the Rodger’s family Blood Line.
