Now we all know what the usual ones are. Certain birthdays, weddings, certain religious ceremonies, graduations, and one we won't mention. Oh there are others but the one that's giving me pause these days is a graduation.
You see my daughter is supposed to graduate on May 6 from U of M but we are at present having to suffer through what I can only call 'on standby' because of a frigging basketball game, or not, depending.
I understand that most of this country has become wrapped up in people chasing balls of one type or the other and it has taken precedence over pretty much everything including education. People pay huge amounts of money to see these ball chasing characters who get paid really ridiculous amounts of money while paying for a child's education not only takes a back seat but people actually do everything they can to keep from paying higher taxes, but they will fork out hundreds of dollars for a few uncomfortable seats to watch a ball game.
You know I wonder if everyone who went to these things were to forgo just one game and donated that money to their local school system I wonder how many children would honestly benefit from that. Of course you would still have to worry about who was pocketing said money but maybe some would make it to where it should.
Anyway I digress from the real point of this blog.
The problem we have is that the only place large enough to hold this graduation is controlled by the NCAA and they may have to have a game on that day so my daughter can't tell the people who would love to see her walk across that stage the exact date for sure because we sit in limbo.
So you people go ahead and throw your money away while our children suffer and we become more and more, a country of blooming idiots.
