These two gentlemen started talking about where they went to school. The loud one turned out to be someone I went to school with at one point but that's neither here nor there because I certainly didn't join in their conversation, at least not intentionally. Loud Mouth was talking loud enough for nearly everyone in the restaurant to hear him.
Now why the hell is this important? The guy was not only a loud mouth he was an ass. He stated that he could have gone to such and such private school but he basically lowered his standards and went to a public school. School I attended but the way. Then he went on to describe how he had been so worried after his daughters had grown up and attended public schools and how every day he had been so worried about their safety. He has been on pins and needles everyday until his little darlings were home safe and sound. Now as a parent I understand worrying about your child but this guy was unbelievable. He made a point of trying to sound extremely well off but he had allowed his daughters, like he had, to lower their standards and attend public schools with the riff raft within the said public school system.
First if this guy had that kind of financial resources why the hell didn't he just send his little darlings to some uppity private school and not subject the riff raft of the public school system to people like him. Come on people get off your damn high horse and come down to earth. Maybe he did have lots of green in the bank but acting like that in public makes you look like an ass and personally if your little darlings are like you I wouldn't want my daughter around them.
Yes I pay attention to things around me especially if you make it hard for me to ignore you. As a matter of fact this bozo reminded me of a rather nasty character. Hello Nat Connors. Hell he even looked like good old Nat. Don't know who Nat Connors is, 'READ MY BOOKS.'
Anyway the point to this story, if there is one, is that nasty characters exist in the real world just like in our books. They don't have to be supper bad just asses who think they are better, or smarter, or more important than the rest of us. I think that's sad.
