Sure I'm going out here and ask family and friends would you please be a model for me so I can use your image to represent a character in one of my stories and her name is Janice. We all know that family and friends are going to line up to do that for me. I don't know about your family and friends but most of mine would laugh me out of the room. I had to sneak the images for Emma past the person that I used as the model for her. I mean what's the most she can do to me, kill me? I'm her mom and she only has the one so I think I'm good there.
Anyway back to Janice. Asking someone to model for that character I was sure would sign my death warrant. You see Janice is butt ugly. I'm not talking a few things not quite perfect I'm talking sit down in a corner, want to die, I'm going to shoot myself ugly. The following is an excerpt from the story A Dark Ending.
Janet had no illusions about her appearance. It wasn’t a matter of low self-esteem although she had plenty of that. No, there was just no other way to put it, she was ugly. She had thin mousy brown hair that hung limp no matter what she did to try and change that. She had battled teenage acne that had left her skin badly scarred. Janet was also blind as a blooming bat and wore glasses with the lenses as thick as the bottom of soda bottles. Her nose was crooked from being broken when she was a child and when describing her teeth she was the one that people were talking about when they said she could eat corn on the cob through a picket fence. She also had a weight problem. She wore a size sixteen and only stood five foot two. Another words she was butt ass ugly and she knew it. The one good thing about dropping out of high school was that she was saved the embarrassment of not being asked to her prom.
Get where I'm coming from now. This poor child is ugly. No one in their right mind would ever consider being tied to that image. Now in all fairness to me I wanted an image with the person's face hidden by her hair because I don't know about you but I don't know anyone that ugly. Hell I don't know that I know anyone I consider ugly. I'm not saying that everyone I know is beauty pageant gorgeous but I know no ugly people. Back to the point. Would you want your name attached to that description in anyway? I would have been more than happy to do it myself but it you've noticed my hair it isn't exactly conducive to the character. Blazing curly red hair doesn't come close to limp mousy brown.
So I'm worrying what to do about this. I decide to take it to my group and tell them I had a problem. Now I expected the usual, you got this, it will be OK sweetie, you'll find an answer or it will work out. Was that what I got? No, well yes I did get that but what shocked the poo out of me was I got three volunteers. One went so far that when I rejected her first pics she sent she went out and dressed the part, got a bunch of photos done, and sent them to me tonight. Now I was so discouraged that I had planned to leave that section of the video out. Not now. This wonderful lady nailed it on the head I think. By the time I do the doctoring, for those more term oriented, editing, it will be totally perfect. So here's to you Julie Ann Kyser-Fosnaugh. I now have the motive to deal with the editing of those photos.
I also need to thank Shants, Harriette, they both were willing to put themselves out there, and of course William. No William didn't offer to dress up as Janice. He is doing some illustrations for me and being such a great friend. Thank you all for your help and support and all the member of The Creative Evil Female Mind and Other Evil Geniuses for being a great bunch of friends.
